Stephanie Petroksy is our Parent tot class teacher and our lead 3s class teacher. This gives her the unique opportunity to “move up” with our youngest students as they progress to the next level in their education. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education from Martin Luther College. She also holds a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Development from Oakland University. Stephanie has over ten years of early childhood experience includes mothering two girls, teaching three/four year old preschool, kindergarten and first grade, and serving as the Assistant Director of a nationally accredited preschool.

Trish Russell is our 3s assistant teacher.  She earned a BA in Elementary Education from Oakland University. Trish has taught first and third grades, was a substitute teacher and an assistant teacher for 2 and 3 year old classrooms at a day care. She is also the mom to 2 former SLCP students.

Kari Yergin is our 4s lead teacher.  She earned a BA in English from The University of Michigan and an Elementary Teaching Certificate from Eastern Michigan University while beginning to gain teaching experience in a preschool. Since then, she has enjoyed teaching first and third grades in addition to working with children of all ages in church and camp settings, her in-home daycare, and most recently a reading tutor program in the South Lyon elementary schools. She is also the mother of three children.

Stacy McGraw is our 4s and Young 5s assistant teacher.  She has many years working with children in a variety of capacities. Along with raising 2 teenage girls and 1 teenage boy, Stacy has spent many years as a dedicated room mom/field chaperone for the various after school activities for her children. Along the way, she has worked in childcare at Jazzercise, assisted children’s figure skating classes, as well as, involvement in the many other various school sport activities for her children. Previous to South Lyon Coop, Stacy, who is a licensed Cosmetologist for 18 years, specialized as a children’s hairstylist, as well as being a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Susan Karczynski is our Young 5s class lead teacher.  She has a BA degree in General Studies from The University of Michigan and Master’s degree in Teaching from Wayne State University. Susan’s more than ten years of experience includes raising two children, teaching kindergarteners, second and third graders, substitute teaching, and working with young children in Safety Town and Sunday School.


Our teachers are CPR and First Aid certified. All teachers attend early childhood training each year.
